In all British schools, one of the terms you'll hear most often during your child's education is "key stage." Primary schools providing British curriculum offer education to pupils on Key Stage 1 and 2 levels as well as Early Years Education Stage. As one of the very few reasonably priced private schools in Bahrain offering British curriculum, New Generation Private School welcomes students on EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 levels.
Each key stage consists of a certain range of school years. There is more than one year in a key stage, they are grouped as follows:
- Early Years Foundation Stage: Ages 3-5 (Nursery and Reception)
- Key Stage 1: Ages 5-7 (Grade 1 and 2)
- Key Stage 2: Ages 7-11 (Grade 3-6)
Core subjects are English, Science and Mathematics while foundation subjects are Social Studies, Art, Music, Physical Education, IT, Islamic, Arabic, French and Life Skills. Islamic education and Arabic classes are not only subjected to Arab and Muslim students. Non-Arab parents who are muslims and non-muslim parents can also request their child to take Islamic class if they wish to.
New Generation Private School particularly puts emphasis on life skills development at an early age. Life skills class which is equivalent to PSHE in UK schools is embedded in our curriculum and it is fully aligned with Islamic and Bahraini law and customs. Life skills class aims to teach certain aspects such as problem solving, responsibility, decision making and making healthy choices at an early age which will equip your child for future when they face bigger challenges.
